Coming at you 7 tentacles a week!

As summer begins to heat up (puns like this are why they pay me the big bucks!), SyFy is breaking out the original films again, now accompanied by lots of marketing gimmicks for maximum saturation of targeted audience age ranges. On that note, the Sharknado rocket blasts off again with the announced Sharknado Week, which will feature not only Sharknado 2, but the first of the new Sharktopus sequels, and the SyFy premiere of Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark! The full PR release is below, complete with all the information you need to make Sharknado Week on SyFy the best Sharknado Week ever! Sharkmania: The Top 15 Biggest Baddest Bloodiest Bites – Premieres Sunday, July 27 at 9PM – This original documentary special takes a light-hearted look back at the 15 best shark movie bites of all time. Sharknado 3 and Sharknado vinyl!

Sharknado pop vinyl
Sharknado Sharknado Sharknado! Yes, it’s true, the SyFy disasterpiece Sharknado will be a trilogy, Asylum has confirmed it. That’s about all they confirmed this far out, expect it to air summer 2015 on SyFy. No word on if that will be the only original movie on SyFy in 2015, as 2014 is turning out to be a drought year for creature features. Other companies need to get into the monsters in tornadoes genre if they want any hope of being on television. (Actually, please don’t do that, other companies!)

Sharknado 2 airs July 31, 2014 on SyFy.

If you like vinyl figures and Sharknadoes, then you will love the Sharknado vinyl from Funko/Pop! Vinyl, which comes out in June.

Sharknado will be the latest RiffTrax Live!

Sharknado RiffTrax Live
In case you missed the special announcement today, the latest RiffTrax Life event will be Thursday July 10th, 2014 and feature the magical shark weather movie Sharknado! One of the better (but not the best) SyFy flicks from last year, Sharknado took social media by storm even if it took a few tries to get good ratings. Now you can watch Sharknado on the silver screen with color commentary from the RiffTrax guys, Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett. July will be just in time for Sharknado 2 to be airing on SyFy, so it’s an amazing cross-promotion celebration. So buy your tickets now and crap!

But where is my Ghost Shark RiffTrax????

Sharknado 2: The Second One – Official Sequel Name!

Yep, the second Sharknado will be called Sharknado 2: The Second One! What will the tagline be? “Enough said….AGAIN!” is my vote, but who knows. The title was crowdsourced via twitter from over 5000 entries and revealed on EW.

No further information at this time, so enjoy this fan poster I got from Tumblr:

Sharknado 2 a go!

Sharknado New York
Sharknado 2 set in New York City got announced last night on Jimmy Fallon. That’s all we know about the sequel so far, but it will have to be pretty crazy to compete with the original. I have faith there will be at least some nutty scenes, and hopefully less ADR. No title has been announced, but that hasn’t stopped twitter from coming up with several thousand potential ones!
