Once again Lifetime is back with a timely warning about how THE INTERNET WILL KILL YOU! This time, an innocent girl visits her friend who is now a webcam girl, only to be seen on camera and become the target of a dangerous stalker. Yes, don’t even visit your friends because stalkers are everywhere! The stalker will carve his way through anyone who dares stop him from kidnapping his target. He’s dropping bodies into dumpsters, making his own homemade knockout drugs, the whole nine yards! A Night to Regret sounds like fantastic fun, and with Christine Conradt having a hand in the script, there is no way it won’t be a most amazing Lifetime movie!

When college student Chelsea Bilson meets up with her estranged childhood best friend, Milla, she is unprepared for the events that follow. Milla, who is now a webcam girl briefly catches Chelsea on camera during one of her shows. Unbeknownst to her, Chelsea has now been exposed to a watcher who becomes obsessed with her beauty and naiveté. He soon discovers Chelsea’s true identity and will stop at nothing to have her to himself. Chelsea enlists the help of her mother and the two must fight for their lives in order to stop an obsessed and murderous madman.

A Night to Regret stars Marguerite Moreau (Firestarter 2: Rekindled), Mollee Gray (Double Daddy), Gigi Zumbado (Pitch Perfect 2), and Tina Huang (Perfect on Paper) It has a story by Lifetime queen Christine Conradt (Too many to list so just click the tag!) and Chris Lancey (Dance Night Obsession), with a screenplay by Mark Sanderson (Mommy’s Little Girl) It is directed by Tom Shell (Girl Followed)

Did I Kill My Mother? asks the important questions on Lifetime!

Don’t you hate it when you can’t remember if you’ve murdered a beloved family member? Lifetime knows you pain, and Did I Kill My Mother? is a film to speak to all of us who have gone through this trial. There will be plenty of Lifetime twists and turns along with plenty of fun, and from the looks of it, plenty of bodies as well! Seems like it will be a fun ride! It’s also another movie Lifetime showed a few weeks ago but is trying to say is a new premiere, imagine having so many movies you can’t keep track of them! But as we never covered it, it’s new to us!

A year after her father’s unsolved, suspicious murder, a young woman’s mother is found dead in the home they both live in. The police think she may be the murderer, and she and her friends have to prove her innocence, while they dig deeper into the real killers hidden life.

Did I Kill My Mother? stars Megan Park (Once Upon a Prince), Austin Highsmith (Dolphin Tale), Dane Rhodes (Flying Monkeys), and Stephen Colletti (All About Christmas Eve). It’s written by David Bush, Marcy Holland (Caught!!), and Emily Moss Wilson, and directed by David Bush (A Deadly Affair)

Jack the Ripper stalks the streets of 1880s Gotham City. As the murders pile up, the police are helpless to stop them. But there is a Batman in this world…

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight is based on one of the original alternate reality tales that would eventually become the Elseworlds brand at DC, though the story has been altered to better reflect the animated movie format and some modern sensibilities. Overall, we get something that feels closer to what would be produced from the 90s animated series than what some of the recent DC animated films have come out with. That’s a good thing, as the series is a high-water mark that all too often these films are unable to attain, despite some notable exceptions.

Gotham is easily transformed in style to a 19th century British city, it is sort of interesting how easily the pieces slide together. Bruce Wayne is still a rich playboy, but he also has connection to his orphan roots via Sister Leslie and her orphanage. This gives him another connection to the victims of the killer, as they are largely poorer women, some of which have gone through the same orphanage. Public outcry is muted because the victims are largely lower class women (mostly prostitutes), but actress Selina Kyle’s voice is one of the loudest to try to get the police to do anything. They are limited by the investigative tools of the time and by distractions of a World’s Fair preparation. An element not really used from historical accounts is the press whipping this up into a frenzy, besides deserted streets there is often nothing really indicating people are afraid (and the deserted streets might just be saving some animation budget!) The police presence is also lacking until it factors into the plot, at which point there are more police than grains of sand on the beach.

I’ve loved creepy movies about returning long lost evil sons who may or may not be fake ever since I saw grown up Ricky Schroder return with anger issues in the made-for-tv movie The Stranger Within as a child. The Wrong Son continues that tradition with a returned from the dead son and lots of suspicious accidents. Plus it’s got Olivia d’Abo, so we can all pretend it is a sequel to The Wonder Years!

Thirteen years after disappearing and presumed drowned, Matt returns home to his mother Sarah. Suspicions grow when her older son Ian is injured in a car accident similar to the one that recently killed his father. Is this really Sarah’s missing son and is he seeking a loving home or revenge?

The Wrong Son stars Olivia d’Abo, Tammy Blanchard, Dan Amboyer, and Paloma Guzmán. It’s directed by Asylum-alum Nick Everhart and the story is by Shane O’Brien (a producer, this appears to be his first writing credit).

The Wrong Son premieres Sunday, June 17th on Lifetime!

No, no, it’s “Love is Blind”, not “Stalk your love behind blinds!”


Psycho Ex-Girlfriend (formerly known as Twisted, but that wasn’t Lifetime enough for Lifetime!) is about a lady who returns from rehab in order to get back her boyfriend. But he’s set on marrying a normal girl who doesn’t go to rehab, which is enough to cause conflict of the Lifetime variety! What a jerk, not immediately dropping his life! Also the ex-girlfriend even hires Tyler’s new girlfriend as a therapist and tells her all about the good sex she had with Tyler, this seems to be a very important plot point according to the trailer. Either way, this looks like a tight Lifetime thriller!

Kara and Tyler are planning to getting married when Tyler’s ex-girlfriend returns from rehab, adamant on winning him back. As Kara tries to protect her relationship and prevent Tyler from sliding back into his bad habits, she is pulled into a twisted game of cat and mouse.

Psycho Ex-Girlfriend stars Elisabeth Harnois, Morgan Kelly (Killjoys!!!), Kimberly-Sue Murray, and Thomas Mitchell. It’s directed by Philippe Gagnon, who regularly helms Incendo Productions that end up on Lifetime like Running for Her Life. It’s written by Barbara Kymlicka (Double Daddy!) so it must be awesome as heck!

Hot off the heels of the fantastic animated Batman: Assault on Arkham and the uneven but ultimately okay live action Suicide Squad, we got ourselves a new entry in the franchise with Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay! DC animated movies are notoriously hit or miss, but this time we got a relatively good one, buffed up by a core crew that has to deal with multiple parties interested in a magical card. Though not as superior as the original animated version, it is still good enough to deserve a watch.

Amanda Waller is still using task Force X to take care of dirty deeds and for her own personal projects, this time on a very personal mission. Deadshot (Christian Slater) is back, along with Harley Quinn (Tara Strong, naturally!) and Captain Boomerang (Liam McIntyre). They are joined by the freezing-powered Killer Frost (Kristin Bauer van Straten), ethical martial artist Bronze Tiger (Billy Brown), and body-modification enthusiast Copperhead (Gideon Emery) on their off the books mission where they are only given a name to track The mission is so off-books they have to drive around in a run down RV, though that does allow the characters to interact more and have conversations in a confined space.

Harley Quinn still gets many of the good lines, correctly toning her down as the stakes get raised. The down point is she’s basically a supporting character there to add flavor to the overall story, and doesn’t seem to have any sort of story arc. Captain Boomerang and Deadshot still hate each other, but have developed a working relationship by this point that doesn’t mean they won’t still insult each other. Boomerang at least gets to throw a bunch of boomerangs this time! The big wrench is Bronze Tiger, who aligns strongly on the side of morality (even though that’s just because he doesn’t want to kill innocent people!) and thus forces the other members of the team to stay on mission, sometimes by punching them until they comply. The film opens with a group lead by Deadshot and containing a few characters I had to look up (what can I say, I grew up on Marvel!) Count Vertigo, Punch, and Jewelee, all but Deadshot failing to come out of that one alive. Sorry, Punch and Jewelee fans, maybe next movie…
