Spore to get a movie

[adrotate banner=”1″]The computer game Spore, where you create life and then evolve/guide it through five stages and stuff, will be turned into a CGI movie by the team behind the not terrible Ice Age movies. I haven’t really played Spore, but I know enough about it to know this could go in any direction, and has lots of potential. Ice Age’s director Chris Wedge will direct, with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland writing. They wrote The Princess and the Frog, so we will see soon if they are good or terrible.

There is also a nice rundown on other EA properties being developed into movies at the end of the article:

EA has also set up a big screen version of “The Sims” at Fox, with John Davis producing. At Universal, it has “Army of Two,” with director Peter Berg, and “Dante’s Inferno,” with Strike Entertainment producing. DJ Caruso will helm “Dead Space,” with Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey producing, and “Mass Effect” is set up with Avi Arad.

The most important question is will there be more SporeChan now?
