SciFi Channel airdates for War Wolves and Sea Beast

SciFi Channel has set airdates for War Wolves and Sea Beast. What the heck is Sea Beast, you ask? I have no clue, but it looks like another random SciFi Channel movie, one with little online buzz. Actually, ZERO online buzz, or even information. Unless it is the 1926 adaptation of Moby Dick starring John Barrymore! But I doubt it. Anyway, War Wolves airs Sunday, March 8 and Sea Beast airs Saturday, March 14. Maybe we’ll find out what the frak it is by then!

SciFi Channel also is premiering the Asylum classics Alien vs. Hunter and I am Omega, as well as the family-friendly Spring Break Shark Attack. February and March will be filled with disappointment.

War Wolves

TV getting the remake fever

TV shows are getting all remake crazy, and have busted out several new revamps. The V revamp has gotten the greenlight to make a pilot episode.

There is also a pilot being shot for a Parenthood series, based on the film starring Steve Martin. Astute readers will remember that there was already a Parenthood TV series, but apparently TV executives are morons.

The Hollywood Reporter

“Friday Night Lights” creator/exec producer Jason Katims wrote the adaptation, produced by Universal Media Studios and Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine TV. (The feature, which earned two Oscar nominations for co-star Wiest and Randy Newman’s song “I Love to See You Smile,” was produced by Imagine and Universal Pictures.)

In other moron news, a Witches of Eastwick TV series is also being prepared. Guess what? There was already a TV series pilot of that as well! (Two, actually, one in 1992 with Julia Campbell, Catherine Mary Stewart, and Ally Walker; and one in 2002 with Marcia Cross, Kelly Rutherford, and Lori Loughlin)What is next, a new M*A*S*H series set in Iraq? (which will be hard to do as there aren’t M*A*S*H units anymore!) I guess because there was a sequel written to the original novel that came out in 2008 there is renewed interest. Women just can’t stop talking about the Witches of Eastwick. This is what they are saying:

Feel the buzz!

The 1980s are definitely in this pilot season. In addition to “Parenthood,” pilots based on the 1980s feature “The Witches of Eastwick” and mini “V” have been ordered by ABC.

He-Man movie might get made…

io9 had some news about the He-Man movie that has been a constant rumor for years now. (Yes, they will ignore the other live-action films with Dolph, Monica, and Tom Paris!)

John Stevenson, one of the directors of Dreamworks’ Kung-Fu Panda, has been tapped to direct the new movie based upon the 1980s Mattel toyline, from a script written by Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li’s Justin Marks. Stevenson was selected for the gig because of his love for the characters, according to Mattel’s Barry Waldo

The supposed script (GRAYSKULL: THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE) is up at LatinoReview. Is it real? I trust no one.

Wingnut Web – Ice storm is the new Katrina edition

There was an ice storm in the midwest this past week, perhaps you heard of it. Kentucky was hard hit, with massive power outages. This also provided an opportunity for michevious nitwits to start comparing the whole situation to Katrina and declare that Barack Obama doesn’t care about white people! Of couse, this is complete garbage, response was swift, and despite the lies FEMA has been there the whole time! The government in Kentucky has even complemented them on their swift action. But that doesn’t stop wingnuts who live in a world outside of facts and reality. A world of deranged horror. The world of the Wingnut Web!

Well start off with FreeRepublic.com and how they handled the smears…

Why ask why? Try Bud Dry!

Barack Obama Doesn’t Care About White Southerners By Caleb Howe was a ridiculous hackjob written by someone who works for AOL. AOL is known for insightful comments:

Robert knows that New York and California are the worst places to live in the world:

When will Democrats have a black guy in a leadership role?
untitled-7.jpg

Robert isn’t fooling me, Mr. E. Lee!

OMG COMMIEZZ!!

Finally, let’s see how our friends at Resistnet.com are handling this situation:

Our friend RC continues to amuse us with his style:

Well, that’s enough crazy for now. So if you haven’t frozen to death in White Katrina: Ice Apocalypse, tune in for the next Wingnut Web. Because the crazy doesn’t stop!

A big batch of terrible Super Bowl movie commercials

GI Joe – this looks horrible. Will only be interested in Gerald Okamura:

Hey, let’s destroy the Eiffel Tower (already done by a Puppet movie!) and have terrible slow-mo CGI flipping

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Way more Transformers, maybe it won’t be as bad. Who am I kidding, the same writers, directors, and stars are in it. And the new Transformers look just and indistinguishable and messy as the old ones.

Land of the Lost

Will Ferrel is annoying. But there are Sleestak!

Fast and the Furious 4

This will be the best F&F sequel yet. Because they can only go up.

Star Trek

I am still not impressed.

I am now aware how I am becoming bitter at the state of big budget entertainment in the media. Mostly because they are horrible. Now, surprisingly, Paul Blart: Mall Cop wasn’t bad, and Taken was awesome, so it is not like I hate everything. Just 80% of the commercials above. Vin Diesel comes out on top for once!
