On the Retromedia message board, Fred Olan Ray revealed his son Chris Ray is directing his first feature film, all of which we know about at this time is it has a creature named Reptisaurus in it! And thanks to two preview shots, we get to see the Reptisaurus, which looks pretty keen.
I’ll be keeping an eye out for this one, as it looks like a neat-looking monster.

February 8, 2008 at 7:22 amIt’s based on an old Charlton Comics series, which actually started out as an adaption of the Danish giant monster movie:”Reptilicus”.That only lasted two issues before it’s title was changed. The series was very short lived[only seven issues].More info can be found here: http://www.dreadcentral.com/node/26060

February 8, 2008 at 1:00 pmNo trailer or release date yet. I posted the story before it was confirmed as from the comic so I didn’t want to jump the gun despite that being the only other google info on reptisaurus.

February 23, 2008 at 11:58 pmI understand that it’s likely a low budget film, but I always enjoyed films like “Golden Voyage of Simbad” and some of the older “Land of the Lost flicks” One I think even had Cowboys and Dinosaurs in it. You can’t get any cheesier than that, and it was fun to watch! In the past they were all claymation and were all real entertaining. CGI beats the heck out of claymation so I’m looking forward to this one. Monster films are back, how cool!
