Muppets Most Wanted breaks out everyone’s favorite recent staple, a trailer with Twitter quotes. But unlike all the rest of the commercials, the Muppets own this phenomenon. The delightful twitter quotes will make you want to rush to the theaters now and get in line to watch Muppets Most Wanted when it comes out March 21 hashtag YOLO sideways winky face.
In Muppets Most Wanted, Kermit is replaced by a master criminal with a weird accent, who is planning nefarious deeds, and the Muppets are caught in the middle.
Whoopie Pie and Cookie Monster are stranded in the middle of the ocean, but luckily they have a boat made of chocolate chip cookies they can try to row back to land in…a boat made of chocolate chip cookies?! Can Cookie Monster control himself and not eat the boat? Find out in Life of Whoopie Pie.
Yes, it is a tale of learning about controlling yourself. Something Cookie Monster obviously needs lessons in, even if he isn’t trapped in the ocean on a boat made out of cookies. The lessons learned will teach your children to not eat their own boats when they are trapped at sea, something that just might save their lives someday!
In other news, I really want a bunch of cookies! Good thing I can control myself (because nowhere nearby is selling cookies…)
The US and UK trailers for Muppets Most Wanted have dropped, and like usual I will post Muppet stuff until the cows come home. If you recall the lead up to The Muppets, there were a billion parody trailers, which were all awesome and I will post the crap out of each one. Heck, the UK trailer has already begun, as it has a semi-spy theme. Both trailers have different footage, and it looks awesome. Kermit is replaced by a master criminal with a weird accent, who is planning nefarious deeds, and the Muppets are caught in the middle. Will the day be saved, or will everything end in tragedy? Of course the day will be saved. But it will take the whole movie to save the day, and much fun will be had along the way. The classic Muppets are back: Gonzo, Piggy, Fozzie, Animal, The Newscaster, Sam the Eagle, Floyd, and new friends 80s Robot and Walter.
I’ll be there opening weekend, because the Muppets are awesome.

The nefarious Lady Finger has stolen the Crown Cookies! Only Agent Double-Stuffed Seven, aka Cookie Monster, can save the day…if he bothers to listen to directions! Featuring computer effects, Bond song riffs, and Cookie Monster running into doors.
A funny parody that has a lesson to be learned about following instructions. Helped by Cookie’s boss telling him the directions in such a complicated way! Good grief, be more direct, please. The skit was longer than I thought it would be, I am guessing because they were so happy to cram as much as possible that they could.
Cookie Monster has been in increasing visibility as the new season of Sesame Street starts. The scandal with Elmo/Kevin Clash is probably the main reason, Cookie Monster is another visible monster alternative that adults and children love. No offense to Zoey or Abby Cadabby, but I didn’t grow up with them and have less emotional attachment. My children will, and I would expect them to gain some prominence this season and possibly used in some of the promotional material going into next year (and maybe the new Elmo, but I’ve never been 100% fond of Elmo!) Other monsters have various problems: Grover is rather intense and was eclipsed by Elmo far too much. Two-Headed Monster is mainly about cooperation and speaks mostly gibberish. Harry is rarely used despite him being a favorite of mine as a kid. Telly is too Telly to be in many ads. Oscar would be cool, but his attitude limits the scope of the parodies. And some of the classic Sesame Street performers must be getting up there in years.
Now, with all the vampires in the media, why isn’t The Count more prominent? I demand more Count! Also Oscar’s pet worm Slimey. He’s a worm named Slimey, people!
Sorry, here are a bunch of stills I took from the video because it’s too awesome not to take many stills from:
YAAAAAAY!! More Muppets is good Muppets! Bring on the parade of parody trailers and cool puns with Muppets Most Wanted!
Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon. Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” is directed by James Bobin and produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Bobin co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller, who is also executive producer with John G. Scotti. Featuring music from Academy Award®-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie, “Muppets Most Wanted” hits the big screen March 21, 2014
