Kidnapped the Hannah Anderson Story Lifetime

Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story steals herself away on Lifetime!

Kidnapped the Hannah Anderson Story Lifetime

I haven’t been this miserable since I ran away with that old guy and had to pretend I was kidnapped. I mean, since I was kidnapped!

I take back my statement last week about Lifetime’s lack of confidence in The Wrong Girl, because this week the links for Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story are also broken! This is especially weird since Lifetime went the extra distance to provide more thank just a low-rez trailer, even including behind the scenes stuff! Not that you can get there from the main MyLifetime.com/movies site, mind you…

Based on a true story. On the afternoon of August 3, 2013, 16-year-old Hannah Anderson was abducted after finishing cheerleading practice in a San Diego suburb. When the bodies of her mother and brother were found in the burned home of family friend James DiMaggio later that day, an AMBER Alert was issued, and a frantic multi-state manhunt for Hannah began. For a week she was kept prisoner by the increasingly unstable DiMaggio as they made their way across the state. One week later, the two were found in Idaho and DiMaggio was killed in a shootout with FBI agents, leaving Hannah as the sole survivor. As the dust settled, questions began to emerge about the nature of the relationship between Hannah and her kidnapper. Was Hannah purely a victim of a depraved adult, or is it possible she was more complicit in the tragic events?

Ah, kidnapping conspiracy theories. Every internet commenter will feel justified now!

Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story stars Scott Patterson (Little Big League), Jessica Amlee (Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus 3-D), Brian McNamara (I Know Who Killed Me), Jay Pickett (Guts and Glory: The Rise and Fall of Oliver North), Susie Castillo (Holiday Engagement), and Tim Abell (Snow White: A Deadly Summer ) It’s directed by Peter Sullivan (Christmas Under Wraps, High School Possession), who also wrote the story along with Jeffrey Schenck (Chupacabra vs. the Alamo) and Hanz Wasserburger (A Novel Romance), the latter also doing the screenplay.

The Wrong Girl Lifetime

The Wrong Girl goes to the wrong channel — Lifetime!

The Wrong Girl Lifetime

Just because I’m left handed it doesn’t mean I’m the wrong girl!

You can tell Lifetime has a lot of faith in its latest original movie The Wrong Girl (aka Fatal Friends), because it hasn’t even bothered to release any promotional material besides a trailer. No pictures, no real information, and the link on the MyLifetime.com website doesn’t even point to the right place. But I have faith in The Wrong Girl, because someone has to. That’s what I do, step up when no one else will.

Sophia is the perfect 17-year-old girl. She studies hard, stays out of trouble, and is a promising pianist. The only problem is that she’s always been quiet and keeps to herself, so when she strikes up a friendship with Grace, the new girl in school, her parents are happy for her. Unfortunately it’s not long before Grace starts showing signs of being possessive. Then, when she tries to destroy Sophia’s family and seduce her would-be boyfriend, Sophia can’t help but wonder if she’s befriended the wrong girl. Now, Sophia must uncover Grace’s secret past and learn the truth about her new friend before it’s too late.

Lifetime continues to teach us that the only thing more dangerous than men are new girls at school.

The Wrong Girl stars Jamie Luner (Stranger in My Bed) as Ashley Allen, Kirsten Prout (Joy Ride 3) as Michelle, Sarah Grey (Embrace of the Vampire) as Sophia Allen, Nels Lennarson (Spooky Buddies) as Dylan Allen, Dominika Juillet (Dracano) as Hana, Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica) as Mr. Clark, and Nicole Muñoz (Chupacabra vs. the Alamo) as Allison. It is directed by Jason Bourque (Stonados) and written by the incredibly prolific Peter Sullivan (Chupacabra vs. the Alamo, Jersey Shore Shark Attack, every The Dog Who Saved… movie)

The Wrong Girl premieres Saturday, May 16, on Lifetime!

Stockholm Pennsylvania Lifetime

Lifetime drives into Stockholm, Pennsylvania!

Stockholm Pennsylvania Lifetime

You can’t seriously let it end with Sex and the City 2, right? That one was TERRIBLE!! You got to complete the trilogy!

A kidnapped girl is rescued as an adult and must readjust to the life she knew before, that is only a distant memory. She’s so used to the sheltered and abusive life of her captivity that being normal seems strange and alien. Stockholm, Pennsylvania deals with emotional trauma after the events of an abduction situation, something we barely see in films. The only one I can even recall is I Know My First Name Is Steven, where Corin Nemec played the adult Steven’s spiral into alcohol abuse and suicidal behavior. Stockholm, Pennsylvania promises a strong look into the rarely mentioned issues that affects those that survive horrific events.
Stockholm, Pennsylvania is written and directed by Nikole Beckwith (her first feature). It stars Saoirse Ronan, Cynthia Nixon, Jason Isaacs, David Warshofsky, and Rosalind Chao.

Lifetime is set to premiere the film “Stockholm, Pennsylvania” on Saturday, May 2, at 8pm ET/PT. Starring Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Saoirse Ronan (“Atonement”), Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon (“Sex and the City”), Golden Globe nominee Jason Isaacs (“Harry Potter,” “The State Within”) and David Warshofsky (“The Mentalist”), the original movie centers on a young woman, kidnapped as a child, who struggles to readjust to life after being returned home.

Abducted 17 years ago, Leia (Ronan) is miraculously found and returned home to her parents Marcy (Nixon) and Glen Dargon (Warshofsky). Having long forgotten her family, after being raised by her captor Benjamin McKay (Isaacs), Leia finds herself unable to connect to those who love her the most. Instead, she yearns for Ben, the only father figure she’s ever known, and the safety of the basement she called home most of her life. Marcy resorts to desperate measures to forge a relationship with Leia, allowing her marriage to unravel as a byproduct. With Marcy’s increasingly erratic actions echoing those of Ben, Leia is left questioning what it really means to be loved.

Produced by Fido Features in association with Olympus Pictures, “Stockholm, Pennsylvania” is written and directed by Nikole Beck with (“Three Generations,” “Big Beach”). Marking Beckwith’s directorial debut, the film is produced by Greg Ammon (“59 Middle Lane”), Dan Halsted (“Virgin Suicides”) and Leslie Urdang (“Rabbit Hole”).

Til Death Do Us Part Lifetime

Til Death Do Us Part is more marriage mayhem on Lifetime!

Til Death Do Us Part Lifetime

And he said I wasn’t “Duff enough for death”, whatever that means. Can you believe it?

Once again, a crazed man is on the loose and endangering a woman! It turns out the crazy guy is her husband, in a twist that’s the plot of the entire film. Til Death Do Us Part features Haylie Duff marrying the perfect guy she barely knows (because he’s a doctor with a generic name), and he goes bonkers and bodies start piling up and his sister renovates the house without being asked. Basically, this is why you don’t get married to someone after only six months. Wait seven months like a normal person! Otherwise, your deck’s just going to get randomly renovated!

Also you’ll die.

Sandra moves to a small town with her new husband Dr Kevin Richardson – a man she only met six months ago. Kevin is everything she’s ever dreamed of and from the outside they look like the perfect couple. However, Kevin begins to exert increasing control over Sandra while his sister Jolene starts renovating their back yard deck. Sandra’s concerns heighten when one of her co-workers dies of a brain hemorrhage at Kevin’s hospital. As Sandra begins to investigate her ideal husband’s past, the man she loves puts her life in danger.

Til Death Do Us Part stars Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite), Magda Apanowicz (The 12 Disasters of Christmas), Ty Olsson (Godzilla), and Rekha Sharma (Battlestar Galactica). It’s directed by Farhad Mann (Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace) and written by Gayl Decoursey (Out of Reach)

Bad Blood will make you feel good on Lifetime!

Bad Blood Lifetime

Every Lifetime movie turns into Orange is the New Black.

When the blood goes bad, suddenly you have a DNA match for a serial killer who is also your stalker and frames you for murders! Damn, better keep an eye on the expiration dates! Luckily, our heroine Lauren Malone fights back against this evil man who wants to destroy her and her her motorcycle customizing business. Take that, random psycho! Bad Blood is the flick’s name, and being a movie Lifetime bought the rights to have the premiere is its game! Let’s not get into how this whole DNA match thing makes no sense, and hopefully gets explained better than the synopsis does.

Lauren Malone is happy with the life she’s built: her own place, a steady job customizing motorcycles, and a good man in Sheriff Church. While her past might have been a bit rocky, she has more than made up for it. But everything in Lauren’s life changes when the police come knocking on her door… and arrest her for murder. Lauren has no alibi, and her blood is all over the crime scene. What Lauren doesn’t know is that a serial killer named Oscar has developed an obsession with her… and that he has an exact match for Lauren’s DNA. Oscar helps her escape from custody, but Lauren slips through his fingers when she realizes who he is. Lauren finds herself caught between a psychopath determined to take her prisoner and a manhunt led by Sheriff Church. With nowhere else to turn, Lauren seeks help from her estranged ex-con father Ray, and the two team up to find a way to clear Lauren’s name… before Oscar has the chance to kill again.

Bad Blood stars Taylor Cole (April Fool’s Day), Jeff Kober (Tank Girl), Billy Miller (American Sniper), Carly Chaikin (In a World…), Brett Rickaby (Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt ), and Christine Adams (TRON: Legacy ). It’s directed by Adam Silver (The 7 Adventures of Sinbad, a lot of cinematography work) and written by Ryan Rothmaier (his first feature writing credit, a lot of editing work)

Stalked by my Neighbor Lifetime

Stalked By My Neighbor on Lifetime will make you lock your doors!

Stalked by my Neighbor Lifetime

There’s a littler Rear Window to our soul in everyone…

Stalked by My Neighbor has Lifetime break out a masterpiece of genre mashups, with Rear Window, crazy stalker movies, American Beauty, and suspense up the yin yang! The best part is, the actual stalker is the protagonist, Jodi Allen, who is a victim of home invasion caught on Skype and now takes photos of her neighbors all days. This leads to clues to a murder and conspiracies and soon the bodies are piling very high, which means their subdivision will probably have to up the Homeowners Association fees to make up for the slack of the new empty units. That’s just another reason why Homeowners Associations are terrible. Also murder and stalking is terrible, almost as much as HOAs. Almost.

Jodi Allen and her mother Andrea moved to suburbia to help Jodi recover from a traumatic home invasion. But when 18-year-old Jodi, while taking photos out her bedroom window, sees a sinister shadow across the street, she panics. Has her nightmare returned? Determined to take action, Jodi goes on a mission to warn her neighbors and find out the truth, only to discover that the shadow may be stalking her.

Stalked by My Neighbor stars Amy Pietz (Stalked at 17), Kelcie Stranahan (Dirty Teacher), Katrina Norman (Fired Up!), Grant Harvey (Jersey Shore Shark Attack)

Stalked by My Neighbor is written and directed by Lifetime vet Doug Campbell (Sugar Daddies, Death Clique, all the “at 17” movies), and as Campbell’s pedigree is awesome this will be a fun exploitative ride! It airs Saturday, March 28, on Lifetime!
