Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus trailer hits

Well, if they got a shark leaping out of the water and biting the Golden Gate Bridge in half, then I’m there. Probably literally, on the bridge while a giant shark bites it. That’s what I get for living in the bay area.

The Asylum news bits

The Asylum, home of the mockbusters, gets some news…

Pics from Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus up at Undead Backbrain:

The poster for The Land That Time Forgot has also been posted, with a giant T-Rex:

The Asylum is also releasing another sex teen comedy with Sexpot 3DDD about sex and pot. No giant monsters, though.

Finally, all references to the mockbuster The Terminators have been stripped from the Asylum’s website. Sources say there was a cease and desist letter sent, so the Asylum dropped all references to the movie but released it anyway! On a side note, I have a review of it finished and look for it to be uploaded once the internet at home (where I can use my ftp program) stops being stupid.

Thanks to Avery for some of the links

Thai Giant Snakes – The Scout

The Scout is a sequel to 2006’s Vengeance, a Thai movie I have but haven’t watched, where some people go into the jungle and nature goes crazy and there is a giant snake who is on the poster art.
As for The Scout? The plot:

Scouts visit an ancient temple to witness a lunar eclipse. Hearing campfire stories of the legendary god who protects the temple, they decide to go on a treasure hunt. Finding themselves lost in a parallel universe, they must find the way back before the end of the eclipse traps them

For another Thai film with snakes, check out the info on Deep in the Jungle, aka Naak

Deep in the Jungle stars Jesdaporn Pholdee as a special-forces sniper who goes rogue to protect a young woman (Ploy Jindachote) who is sought by a rival black-ops soldier (Pasin Ruengwut). Sakda Kaewbuadee stars as the woman’s protective brother. The siblings are from an ancient tribe of snake gods who can live in human form. Coherent storytelling and decent special effects made Deep in the Jungle an okay effort from Phranakorn and director Teerawat Rujeenatham.

And thanks to Avery for the heads up on The Scout

Asylum's THE TERMINATORS gets a trailer

And it looks like it features old-school cylons, freighters straight out of Deep Space Nine, and a battle around a space station that looks like the end of Phantom Menace meets any random DS9 station battle. Plus all the Terminator homages as cars crash into cyborgs and do no damage. I am amazed this hasn’t been sued yet, but let’s just hope the best scenes weren’t the entire trailer (as is too often the case) Am now sort of looking forward to it.

Thanks to Avery for spotting it!

Asylum news – Transmorphers 2 and Land That Time Forgot

Some pictures arrived of The Land That Time Forgot, which is being directed by C. Thomas Howell. More photos at Robojapan. I thought I had an article about this but didn’t see one. No poster yet.

Also, the poster is up for Transmorphers: Fall of Man, the prequel to Transmorphers. It won’t be as good as the original, but will it be better than Transformers 2? Probably. More info

I want a bigger poster photo, Asylum!

Thanks to Avery for the Land That Time Forgot info!

Dragonquest from Asylum hits trailer

Dragon Quest

The Asylum has put up the trailer for Dragonquest. It doesn’t look like a mockbuster, but might be coincidentally titled to cash in on the Dragonball Z film.

When an ancient warlord summons a mythological beast, a young hero must complete a series of quests to awaken the dragon that will defeat the monster.

Info page with trailer

The Asylum is also remaking The Land That Time Forgot, based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel. Directed by C. Thomas Howell.

Thanks to Avery for the reminder!
