New Review – Island Warriors

The new review of Island Warriors is up. A pretty entertaining flick despite the washed out, dubbed, full-screen VHS print being the only way to see it. Women beat up men and sometimes each other, with much of the cast being Taiwan actors and actresses you will recognize from other films made in the same period. Some of which are future reviews here! Flowplayer=Woeplayer

I upgraded Firefox and now it looks like Flowplayer doesn’t work with it (but still works with IE)
Thus all the flash movie files don’t work
I have an older version of Flowplayer, I am guessing that is why.
So now I get to learn how to configure the new version to work.
Fun times ahead!
I am sorry to anyone who can’t see the video clips on the main site, it will be fixed soon (hopefully) than I can get around to upgrading the forums.

EDIT: Hmmm… Firefox 3.0.5 is not displaying these on my XP box, but they show up fine on the Vista laptop running 3.0.5. Now I am confused. Maybe I still need to upgrade, maybe not.

EDIT 2: I upgraded Flowplayer to the newest version and finally figured out a configuration that works on my XP box, need to test it on other comps first, and if it is good then I only have to redo EVERY video clip on the site. Annoying. It still beats having Youtube delete everything randomly.

Where are the "Best of/Worst of" lists here?

As much fun as it is to watch people on the internet try to make excuses for not putting Dark Knight at the top of their Best of lists, I am just going to skip the whole thing this year. As a few of the readers may recall, I even ditched the awards I set up last year before awarding anything. The truth is, it just got boring, so I dropped it like a hot potato. The same thing with making end of year lists. It is boring, I forget half of the good and terrible films I saw over the year, and the lists drown in a sea of other lists. Do we really care what some guy at AICN cares about as the #7 movie of 2008? No one cares. All we got to know was The Dark Knight was great, Dear Zachary is the best documentary as well as the worst movie emotionally ever, those parody movies all bit the big one, An American Carol was right-wing garbage that will get trashed in a review here soon, and no one saw The Hottie or the Nottie.

But since the public demands lists, here are the better movies from reviews I did from 2008. Because it is all about me!

Next year will have even weirder and funner crap, as well as crappier crap that we over-analyze. TarsTarkas.NET will continue to get stupidly obsessive about stupid movies.
