Should you get a felony charge for theater hopping?

Rabbit Hopping

Have you ever theater hopped? I totally have (unless you are a cop, in which case I totally did not! ::wink::) and so have most people I know. But did you know you could be facing a long term in the slammer for theater hopping? Because that’s what’s facing one Indiana couple. Lendsey and Delilha Harbin reportedly bought tickets to go see Snitch, and when it was over, allegedly then snuck into the showing of Warm Bodies, where they were confronted by police and charged with felony theft.

The big question is, is this really worth the police’s time enforcing a $6.75 theater price skipping (and holy crap, $6.75!?! I want that theater near me! It’s close to double that here at night.) It’s a good thing Indiana has no more crime, that’s all I’m saying. Of course, there are probably some MPAA/RIAA types who view theater-hopping on the same level as file sharing. All I’m saying is maybe a trespassing warning was all that was needed.

Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators will rockodile!

Gator butterflies

Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators is a real title for a real movie destined to become a SyFy classic. Fantastic director Griff Furst (Arachnoquake) is helming Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators and it took three people to write it – SyFy veteran Rafael Jordan, and Rise of the Zombies co-writers Delondra Williams and Keith Allan. This is a surprisingly strong combination of solid talent that promises an entertaining flick beyond the fact the title is ridiculous!

Jordan Hinson (Eureka) and Victor Webster (Continuum) star. I’ve never seen them in anything so I can’t give any lame snarky jokes here. So far all the info we got is from the IMDB page. When it does get an airdate on SyFy, we shall stop out gator wrasslin’ and let you know!

New Bikini Movies inbound

Dirty Blondes From Beyond Christine Nguyen

Never fear, citizens, there will be more Fred Olen Ray Bikini movies! Straight from the word of Christine Nguyen’s Twitter account, we got word that the new batch is filming, and we even have tentative names for three of them. No confirmed number (I would guess four, the usual amount) and remember, the titles of these films change often between inception and cable premiere/DVD sales.

Christine Nguyen will play Betty in Super Sex Program, Zoey in After Midnight, and Mindy in All Babe Network. No further information is available at this time. We’ll keep you posted once these start airing on Cinemax!

Tan Mom says Tan Mom to make Tan Mom movie starring Tan Mom

Tan mom Patricia Krentcil

Tan Mom Tan Mom Tan Mom!

New Jersey Tan Mom Patricia Krentcil told In Touch Weekly that she’s going to make a Tan Mom movie about her life that she’ll be starring in. This is probably news to every production company in the universe. Will this happen? It better, Hollywood! I’ll shake my fist at you if the Tan Mom film doesn’t get made! Lifetime is probably chomping at the bit as I type. Maybe they can go all SyFy and get a Tan Mom vs. Octomom movie made. I would totally watch that, and so would America.

Spring Breakers bikini

Spring Breakers are bad girls doing it well

Spring Breakers

One film that has been burning up the charts (the Internet charts, on the Internet!) is Spring Breakers, largely because it features several former Disney pop princesses turning bad girl and robbing a bank, in addition to James Franco being completely nuts. James Franco is basically playing MTV reality star Riff Raff, who says

“I sent him a few things. But all you gotta do [to see how I dress] is search through my videos. I got a pretty distinct style, with the braids, the jewelry.”

The plot:

Brit, Candy, Cotty, and Faith have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper “Alien” promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience a spring break they will never forget.

Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine play the law-breaking foursome.

Spring Breakers is written and directed by Harmony Korine (of Kids and Trash Humpers fame.) Those I know who saw it during one of the festival screenings raved. In fact, I’ve not seen a single negative review yet, and this is one of those films where if it was bad it would become a critical train wreck very fast.

The soundtrack is currently streaming.
The Red Band Spring Breakers trailer is here.

And below is a collection of publicity photos and posters for Spring Breakers. It opens wide March 22. Just in time for Spring Break!!!!!

Chupacabra vs. The Alamo on SyFy!

chupacabra vs the alamo
We reported on Chupacabra vs. The Alamo during our 69 Must See Flicks from The American Film Market article, and it’s great to see some of the films beginning to emerge. Chupacabra vs. The Alamo premieres March 23rd on SyFy

Reminder that Chupacabra vs. The Alamo has two synopses:

Over the course of one night in the historical fort, an unlikely band of heroes will form a defense against an onslaught of vicious monsters.

A mysterious creature devours citizens in a suburb of San Antonio, Texas. Could it be the fabled “Chupacabra.” As the attacks increase, police officer, CARLOS SEGUIN must stop the creature before its appetite grows.

Erik Estrada and Vanesa Tomasino Rodriguez star. We will be watching. There better be no basement in the Alamo! And will Ozzy Osbourne make an appearance to give the Chupacabra the ol’ firehose?
