Now, when articles like this show up that claim John Carter will be the biggest money loser in the history of history…maybe, just maybe, it is because a pack of monkeys could have done a better job marketing John Carter than the current fail parade. And, yes, I should have said “a pack of white apes” to keep with the John Carter theme, but if Disney doesn’t give a frak…
The marketing on this film has been atrocious. Everything that has been shown makes it look like a straight to DVD bottom feeder and while I can’t say if the film will be good, I can’t imagine it will be as bad as the ads make it out to be. I can’t figure out if the marketing people don’t understand what they are advertising or really don’t care.
With hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, it looks like they’ve just about given up despite the efforts of people who starred or directed the film. Just sad
