The Stepchild gets stepping to Lifetime!

[adrotate banner=”7″]The Stepchild brings back a Lifetime Tradition, Evil Men! This Evil Man probably killed the titular character’s dad and has set his sights on knocking off her and her stepmom as well! Thanks to some convenient amnesia, Ashley can’t tell if she’s correct about the Evil Man, or if she’s just paranoid. But she’s probably right. In a stunning twist, it is the stepmom who has red hair, not Ashely the stepchild!

After spending months in the hospital recovering from the physical and emotional injuries she suffered during a home invasion that claimed the life of her father and left her stepmother, Beth, injured, Ashley Bennett returns home to try to move on with her life. Plagued by fragmented memories of the night of the murder, Ashley begins to suspect that her father’s friend and business partner, John, who is now living with her and her stepmother, is up to no good and she enlists the help of her boyfriend to look into his behavior. When Ashley learns that John’s wife died in an unusual accident, she becomes convinced that John is behind her father’s murder and that Beth is in serious danger. However, Beth sees Ashley’s erratic and paranoid behavior as a sign of suffering from post traumatic stress. Is Ashley simply jealous of this new man or is John a cold-blooded killer? And if Ashley can remember everything from the night of the murder, will she be prepared to face the truth?

The Stepchild stars Lauren Holly (Dumb and Dumber) as Beth, Sarah Fisher (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Ashley, Paul Johansson (Midnight Witness) as John, and Keenan Tracey (Sugarbabies) as Michael. It is directed by Roma Roth (their first directorial film, but they’ve been involved in film for years and executive produced Roboshark) and written by Roma Roth and Gemma Holdway (Are You My Daughter?, tv’s Killjoys)

The Stepchild premieres Saturday, March 12th on Lifetime!

A Daughter’s Nightmare is more Lifetime Movie fun! #DaughtersNightmare

A Daughter's Nightmare Lifetime

How am I still being Cyberbu//ied, it’s been years! Good thing I still can’t get the cap off…

[adrotate banner=”1″]Lifetime is the world expert on nightmares (suck on that, Freddy Krueger!) and their latest original movie, A Daughter’s Nightmare, is another fine example of nightmares and evil evil men.

Soon after her father’s death, college freshman Ariel learns her mother, Dana, has met Adam, a seemingly well-meaning and charming man at a grief support group. He claims to be a nurse, but the longer he hangs around the sicker and more isolated Dana becomes, even from Ariel. When Dana suddenly goes missing it’s up to Ariel to discover the terrible truth of Adam’s past before it is too late.

A Daughter’s Nightmare stars Emily Osment(Hannah Montana and Cyberbu//y), Gregg Sulkin(Wizards of Waverly Place), Paul Johansson(One Tree Hill), Victoria Pratt(Cleopatra 2525), and RICHARD KARN!!!! Yes, Al Borland himself! This might be one of the best casts in a ridiculous Lifetime film yet!

Director Vic Sarlin has previously worked on A Sister’s Nightmare and A Mother’s Nightmare, both of which were also written by Shelley Gillen, who writes this entry. I guess makes this another Lifetime Franchise! Shocking how many we’ve come across.

A Daughter’s Nightmare premieres Saturday, May 3rd on Lifetime! Their hashtag for talking on Twitter is #DaughtersNightmare. Several prior films have trended nationally, let’s see if this one does as well…

Stonados storm SyFy, leave title pun wreckage in their wake…

[adrotate banner=”1″]If you can’t wait for Sharknado, don’t fret, there is another tornado combo-pun title film popping up on SyFy April 27th with Stonados! Stonados is a disaster flick about a giant tornado that throws stones at everything in its path. Finally the true story of the tornadoes that haven’t sinned and thus can begin the stone-throwing armageddon Jesus talked about in the Bible! Experienced disaster film helmer Jason Bourque directs (Seattle Superstorm, Wildfire 7: The Inferno, The Two Coreys) and SyFy movie writer superstar Rafael Jordan wrote the script. You know his work: Dragon Wasps, Frost Giant, Star Runners, Hammer of the Gods, and the upcoming masterpieces Poseidon Rex, Jurassic Attack, and the new classic I just heard about, Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators!

TimesColonist has some of the filming details:

It stars Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill) as Joe, a widowed ex-storm chaser; Sebastian Spence (First Wave) as his former partner; Thea Gill (Queer as Folk) as a tough bureaucrat; and William B. Davis (The X-Files), as a lighthouse keeper.

Also featured are rising local stars Jessica McLeod (The Christmas Consultant) as Megan, Joe’s rebellious teenage daughter; Dylan Schmid (Once Upon a Time) as Jackson, her younger brother; and Grace Vukovic (Mulligans) as their friend Julie.

Coultish Management has some set photos from the filming:

Everyone had a great time on set and many got to experience movie magic with huge wind machines simulating the storm and big chunks of Styrofoam “stones” flying around set! Here are a few snapshots of some of our members on set!

How powerful can the Stonado be if it can’t shut down Dave’s Java Hut?

Atlas Shrugged IS filming!

[adrotate banner=”1″]Atlas Shrugged is filming for real! And One Tree Hill’s Paul Johansson is starring and directing!

Why the rush to get a crappy version made? Because otherwise producer John Aglialoro would have lost the rights, which he paid $1 million for 20 years ago. This flick is budgeted at $5 million. Yes, $5 million. And it is Atlas Shrugged Part One, so it isn’t even the whole story! I guess Part Two will just be a movie of the super-long speech that slows down all the rape scenes Ayn Rand fans just love. This will be awfully hilarious.

The free market has declared no Ayn Rand photos!
