Two take on Bruce Lee roles

[adrotate banner=”1″]Bruce Lee roles are rising from the grave like Bruce Lee did in those terrible movies. First up is news on the replacement for Kato on the Green Hornet movie (after Steve Chow made the wise decision to jump ship) will be Jay Chou. Jay Chou is probably best known for the Initial D movie over here, but he also makes lots of music videos, including a stunning tribute to his World of Warcraft character called Orc:

And let’s just forget his cowboy song:

Kato is not the only Bruce Lee role that is coming back to the big screen (even though when the Green Hornet was on screen Bruce Lee wasn’t Kate neither during the days it was a serial nor in the Hong Kong unauthorized versions)

They are remaking Enter the Dragon.

Yes, THAT Enter the Dragon.

Except it will be called Awaken the Dragon and stars Korean pop star Rain. Yep. Way to make your film sound like one of those Bruce Lee rip off movies that plagued theaters after his dead (Like Clones of Bruce Lee) At least they aren’t renaming Rain “Rain Lee”

Panda Men – new Jay Chou Chinese tv superhero series

[adrotate banner=”1″]Jay Chou thinks China needs some modern heroes, so he has developed a new TV series with panda guys! That’s…interesting. If this takes off expect it to show up as a movie one day.

Jay Chou held the press conference for a drama series tentatively named “Panda Men” on the 16th. Jay says that he “loves watching Super Hero movies, but Chinese people don’t have a modern day hero. All Chinese heroes are from the ancient times, so [he] want to do something that no one else has yet done.” Jay says he came up with the idea long before Kungfu Panda, but never had the time to do it.

“Panda Men” will be set in 2030 and stars two righteous males, dubbed “Panda Hero” and “Panda Superman,” who will protect “???/Bright City.”
