In the Blood trailer is more Gina Carano kicking butt!

[adrotate banner=”1″]Gina Carano beats up a whole island of people when her husband is kidnapped in In the Blood. It will get a limited theatrical release and a DVD/VOD push. The action and look harkens back to some nice direct to video action movies that I (and many like me) rented all the time from video stores. Which is why the theatrical release is a bit surprising, but as it’s Gina Carano, she was in Fast and Furious 6, there’s money to be made. Luis Guzmán, Stephen Lang, and Danny Trejo also star. John Stockwell of Into the Blue and Blue Crush fame took a break from directing movies with “blue” in the title to direct. Bennett Yellin and James Robert Johnston wrote the script.

Gina Carano stars as Ava, a trained fighter with a dark past. When her new husband (Cam Gigandet) vanishes during their Caribbean honeymoon, Ava uncovers a violent underworld of conspiracy in the middle of an island paradise. Armed with a deadly set of skills, Ava sets out to discover the truth – and to take down the men she thinks are responsible for his abduction, one by one.

April 4 is when In the Blood will hit theaters and VOD.

Plot details on Gina Carano vehicle Knockout

[adrotate banner=”1″]Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film Knockout, starring mixed martial arts champion Gina Carano, has been given some new cast members and an updated plot. It is now a straight spy/revenge action flick. Black Ops super soldier Mallory Kane (Carano) is double-crossed and must go find out who did the double-crossing and how best to killerize them dead. Probably with a right cross. Michael Douglas is a government guy, while Michael Fassbender is another Black Ops guy. Ewan McGregor plays a mercenary company CEO that owns the company that Carano worked for. Dennis Quaid is also in the film.

In addition, the MMA hype machine has built up to the point some ding-a-ling is spamming the crap out of blogs that even remotely mention MMA fighters such as Carano. Luckily, they do it so badly Askimet catches every single one of their spam comments. Looks like a spammer got Knocked Out.

Knockout – Gina Carano directed by Soderbergh

[adrotate banner=”1″]Gina Carano is a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter trained in Muay Thai kickboxing who will soon be leading her own movie called Knockout. Steven Soderbergh took some time off from directing porn stars to helm this film, which is describes as a contemporary to Kill Bill, La Femme Nikita, and the James Bond films. Oddly enough, all three of those are completely different, so okay. Whatever makes the inverstors happy, just give us a good action film with plenty of butt-kicking action. Carano has a supporting role in the upcoming Blood and Bone, and you might know her as Natasha Volkova from Command and Conquer Red Alert 3.
